Inside Sales Representative (Counter Sales – Hardscape)

Compensation: $25 an Hour
Job Summary
Ideal Concrete Block is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support contractor and homeowner sales at our Waltham Hardscape Center. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers, handling product inquiries, pricing, and order processing while delivering a high level of service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in person, by phone, email, and text
- Provide accurate product information, pricing, and availability
- Process orders and enter transactions into the point-of-sale system
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and repeat customers
- Educate customers on basic to advanced installation methods for pavers, retaining walls, related outdoor living elements and products
- Upsell and recommend complementary products to increase order value and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate with yard and operations teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Maintain organized records of quotes, orders, and customer interactions
- Support inventory counts, deliveries, and trade show activities as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales in hardscapes or related industry experience (required)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and responsive demeanor
- Organized with attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Comfortable with basic math and transaction handling
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with hardscape, construction materials, or outdoor living products preferred
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 6:45 AM – 4:00 PM
Work Environment
- Primarily counter/office or Express Sales Booth based with regular customer interaction
- Fast-paced setting requiring strong time management and follow-through
