Job Description ( Head / VP of Operations)
- Own the strategy and commercial growth of a biological specimen collections business, defining the service offering, target customers, market positioning, and scaling plan.
- Develop and execute go-to-market initiatives, including pricing models, sales materials, customer messaging, and commercial processes.
- Build the business from the ground up by establishing operational capabilities, workflows, infrastructure, and scalable delivery models.
- Manage vendor partnerships end-to-end, including selection, contract negotiation, onboarding, and ongoing performance oversight.
- Collaborate with business development teams to generate opportunities, support sponsor engagement, and convert new study partnerships.
- Partner with operational leaders to identify, onboard, and coordinate research sites that can support specimen collection studies.
- Take full ownership of business performance, monitoring KPIs, ensuring high-quality execution, maintaining client satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary operations team, setting performance expectations, implementing training programs, and fostering a high-accountability culture.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced qualifications such as an MBA, MPH, or equivalent are preferred.
- 7+ years' experience in strategic and operational leadership roles, ideally within management consulting, high-growth start-ups, or business-building environments.
- Demonstrated success in launching and scaling new business capabilities, managing cross-functional initiatives, vendor relationships, and commercial growth activities.
- Strong people leadership, project management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate independently and drive results in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
