This role is for 20 pay periods per year (10-months). The pro-rated range is: Min: $35,416.60 Mid: $44,166.60 Max: $53,250.00

Located five miles from downtown Boston, Tufts University is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the highly-competitive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Tufts student-athletes participate in 30 varsity sports, 32 club sports and a number of intramural sports. Tufts Athletics has won 17 NCAA team championships since 2010 and has finished in the top 10 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup every year for the past decade, including winning the Director's Cup in 2022 as the top Division III Athletic Department in the nation. Tufts Athletics oversees the University’s Physical Education Department and manages all athletics facilities. The Department of Athletics provides student-athletes with a dynamic, transformational experience on and off the field. Under general supervision, works with Head Coach to coach Field Hockey student-athletes, determines team/game strategies, monitors performance of student-athletes and ensures adherence to conference and university rules and guidelines.
- Instructs and coaches team members individually and in groups. Assesses performance needs and develops plans.
- Plans and coaches practice sessions.
- Partners with Head Coach to develop game strategy and position assignments.
- Ensures adherence to all association, conference and university rules by student-athletes and supporting staff.
- Recruits a portfolio of prospective student-athletes and ensures timely submission of records for admission.
- Develops and implements marketing and promotion plans for program, as well as fundraising activities.
- Assists with other program operations as necessary.
- Performs an assigned secondary duty for the Department of Athletics.
Basic Requirements
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-4 years field hockey coaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree in related field
- 3-5 years field hockey coaching experience
- Collegiate playing experience as a field hockey student-athlete
