Who We’re Looking For
The Sr. Director, Talent Management & Learning will lead the design and execution of an integrated global talent and learning strategy that enables Laborie to deliver on its mission of improving patient outcomes.
This role is instrumental in building enterprise leadership capability, strengthening succession pipelines, and advancing a high-performance, patient and customer-centric culture across Laborie’s three core business units—Urology, Gastroenterology, and Mother & Child Health. The Sr. Director will ensure that talent and learning systems are aligned to business growth, regulatory requirements, and the specialized capabilities required in a global medical device environment. This role will report directly to the Chief People Officer.
About The Role
Enterprise Talent Strategy
- Develop and execute a global talent management strategy aligned to Laborie’s growth priorities and multi-business unit structure.
- Lead enterprise-wide talent reviews and succession planning processes, ensuring strong pipelines across critical roles in all business units.
- Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to identify and close capability gaps in areas such as clinical expertise, regulatory compliance, quality systems, and commercial excellence.
Leadership Development
- Architect and implement a leadership development strategy that builds capability from frontline leaders to executive leadership across Urology, Gastroenterology, and Mother & Child Health.
- Embed leadership expectations that reinforce accountability, urgency, collaboration, and patient impact.
- Provide executive coaching and partner with senior leaders on development planning and effectiveness.
Learning & Capability Building
- Design and scale a modern, global learning ecosystem that integrates:
- Technical and clinical training
- Regulatory and compliance training (e.g., FDA, ISO)
- Commercial and functional capability building
- Leadership development
- Ensure learning solutions are practical, scalable, and directly tied to business outcomes and patient care excellence.
Succession & Internal Mobility
- Establish robust succession frameworks for executive and critical roles across all regions and business units.
- Drive internal mobility and career pathing to retain and develop key talent, particularly in specialized clinical and technical roles.
- Build diverse talent pipelines aligned with future workforce needs.
Performance & Culture
- Evolve performance management practices to reinforce a high-performance, accountable culture with clear alignment to business and patient outcomes.
- Partner with leadership to embed a culture of continuous feedback, development, and measurable impact.
- Align talent initiatives with Laborie’s values and commitment to improving patient lives.
Technology & Analytics
- Leverage talent and learning technologies (e.g., LMS, talent marketplaces) to enable scalable and data-driven solutions.
- Define and track KPIs such as bench strength, internal mobility, leadership effectiveness, and learning impact.
- Use analytics to inform workforce planning and strategic talent decisions.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a global Talent Management & Learning team.
- Manage external partners and vendors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
- Foster strong collaboration across HR Centers of Excellence and business leaders.
What You Bring
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise in talent management, leadership development, and learning.
- Experience in medical device, life sciences, or other highly regulated environments strongly preferred.
Functional Expertise
- Demonstrated success building enterprise talent strategies in complex, global organizations.
- Strong understanding of leadership development, succession planning, and capability building in technical and regulated environments.
- Experience integrating compliance, clinical, and commercial learning into cohesive frameworks.
Leadership Capabilities
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into execution.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders globally.
