Brandon Residential Treatment Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department in providing exceptional care for boys and young men in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee nursing services, support staff development, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, therapeutic care that empowers youth to reach their full potential.
Position Responsibilities:
· Provides leadership and oversight of all nursing/medical services.
· Responsible for overall operations of department functions.
· Provides direct supervision and guidance to nursing staff.
· Oversees medication management, intake, admission coordination, emergency medical care, and preparation for discharge.
· Oversees the coordination of psychiatric services and acts as a primary resource to agency staff for medication-related questions.
· Participates in management meetings.
· Provides consultation across all professional disciplines and programs as needed.
· Manages the Medication Administration Program (MAP) certification preferred or comprehensive training provided with employment
· Demonstrates empathetic understanding of complex trauma and its effects including abuse, loss, and neglect that youth bring to placement.
· Provide coordination and oversight of scheduled and as needed medications.
· Document planned interventions, critical incidents, and general observation of youth and assessment of their skills, behavior, and moods.
· Demonstrate knowledge of and role in individual youth treatment plans, including their assessment, particular needs, behavioral goals, and identified intervention strategies.
· Provide training and guidance to new and existing employees.
Qualifications:
- BSN required; 3 years nursing experience preferred; experience working with adolescent population strongly preferred.
· Registered Nurse (RN) with current MA license in good standing.
· Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience, including supervision and management functions, in a similar or related setting.
· Experience in delivery of training, residential care, or work with at-risk children and adolescents is preferred.
Schedule:
Full-time; 40 hours/week; M-F, 8 AM – 4 PM
On-call: Rotating on-call shift. Phone only. No need to be onsite.
Salary:
Starting at $110,000 salary
