About The Role
PPLM is seeking a skilled Professional Trainer to support and deliver high‑quality sexuality education trainings for educators nationwide. This role facilitates the Get Real curriculum and the Sexuality Education Cornerstone Seminar (SECS), contributes to curriculum development, and provides technical assistance to educators. Ideal for an experienced facilitator passionate about sexual and reproductive health, adult learning, and health equity.
This position will require frequent (up to 25% of your time) travel both nationally and statewide.
Your Day to Day:
Training & Facilitation
- Facilitate Get Real trainings—including middle and high school Training of the Educator (TOE), Training of the Trainer (TOT), and online courses—independently or with a co‑facilitator
- Facilitate SECS seminars and additional professional learning opportunities for educators and youth‑serving professionals
- Represent the Institute and ASPIRE at conferences, workshops, and professional events
Curriculum & Program Development
- Collaborate with the training team to develop, update, and maintain Get Real curricula, training designs, facilitator guides, and online course materials
- Contribute to the creation and enhancement of new professional learning offerings on sexual and reproductive health topics
- Uphold research-based best practices in adult learning and training design
Technical Assistance & Support
- Provide technical assistance and support to Get Real educators and trainers nationwide
- Review and contribute content to GetRealEducation.org, the parent portal, and social media platforms
- Assist with training logistics, inventory management, and administrative coordination
Team & Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in team, departmental, and supervisory meetings
- Contribute to monthly reports, documentation, evaluation efforts, grant reporting, and budget updates
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with Professional Training team members
- Report training‑specific data, feedback, and challenges to the Professional Education Training and Systems Specialist
- Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5 years of experience teaching in an educational setting or working in the sexual health field
- Experience facilitating sexuality education trainings; experience in violence prevention, substance use disorder, or work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus
- Reliable transportation is required
- National travel up to 25% and statewide travel; some early morning/evening hours
- Experience developing or delivering training to adult learners preferred
- Experience teaching the Get Real curricula preferred
- Strong in-person and virtual facilitation skills required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Familiarity with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Moodle, Google Classroom).Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities, and lived experiences
