Materials Foreman:
The Materials Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner, supervises and troubleshoots routine issues that occur on the job site, and ensures safety rules are always followed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
- Coordinate tasks with the Operations Manager working according to priorities and plans
- Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew, for accurate completion of Field Logs for payroll
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities on the worksite for work crew
- Supervise and train workers and operators
- Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
- Plan and schedule plant production according to inventory and sales
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
- Resolve problems when they arise
- Report on progress to the Operations Manager and Division Manager as needed
- As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person for the successful operation of the quarry
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a materials foreman
- In-depth knowledge of materials processing procedures, equipment
- DOT Certificate (acquired within one month after date of hire)
- OSHA 10 certification
- MSHA certification
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with workers on site and report project status and issues that may arise to the Operations Manager
- Prior experience with digital record keeping and tracking analytics
- Problem-solving abilities
Education and Experience:
- Valid driver’s license
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Foreman role
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
