T
he Equity Research Analyst will be part of the Office of the CIO Equity Team, which manages the firm’s home office individual equity strategies, oversees equity investment coverage across the firm, and supports wealth teams throughout Citizens Wealth. The role conducts fundamental equity research, generates investment ideas, and maintains coverage across a broad universe of U.S. large-cap equities.
Responsibilities
- Fundamental Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and provide investment coverage across a broad universe of U.S. public equities to assess their financial performance, competitive positioning, and growth prospects. This involves financial statement analysis, earnings coverage, and financial modeling.
- Idea Generation: Provide frequent, well researched, investment ideas for inclusion into US equity strategies taking into context company, industry, sector, macro conditions, and portfolio positioning.
- Content Creation: Publish investment content for covered companies, including earnings analysis, and be able to articulate investment thesis, growth drivers, and risks.
- Data Analysis: Utilize your expert Excel skills to organize and manipulate data supporting the equity strategy objectives, including financial statement modeling, research, compliance, new business, and due diligence efforts.
- AI Integration: Utilize AI tools to enhance research efficiency, data analysis, content creation, and investment insight generation while maintaining strong analytical judgement and oversight.
- Collaborative Support: Partner closely with wealth teams to communicate portfolio positioning, investment ideas, onboard equity strategies, and respond to ad hoc research requests.
- Market Monitoring: Stay updated with relevant market trends, economic indicators, news, and single stock earnings results that may impact client holdings.
- Continuous Learning: Ongoing education and market research to enhance your analytical skills and knowledge base.
- Communication: Clearly articulate equity strategy positioning, investment views, and market developments to client-facing teams.
Qualifications
- 2-7 years of direct individual stock research experience, analyzing financial statements, earnings reports, modeling forecasts, and articulating investment views.
- Buy-side or Sell-side equity research experience.
- Ability to pitch and defend investment ideas frequently to senior investors.
- Independent thinker with a passion for equity markets.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to expedite tasks, scale research, and support investment decision making process and due diligence.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to complete tasks and research with little supervision, relying on initiative to achieve goals efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- CFA designation required
- MBA preferred
- Work Schedule: M-F
- Hybrid Schedule 4 days in/1 day WFH (Fridays)
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $174,000 per year. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
