Paralegal (Personal Injury, Criminal & Workers’ Comp)

About the Role
Sheeley Law is seeking a highly organized and experienced Paralegal to join our team in Newport. This is a dynamic role supporting a diverse practice that includes Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, and Workers’ Compensation.
The ideal candidate is a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands that in the legal world, the "little details" are actually the big ones.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Oversee and manage case files from inception through resolution.
- Document Preparation: Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
- Scheduling: Manage the attorney’s calendar, ensuring all court dates, depositions, and meetings are accurately tracked.
- Client Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing empathetic and professional communication.
- Verification: Obtaining medical records, medical bills and insurance information.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven track record as a paralegal; experience in PI, Criminal, or Workers’ Comp is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal case management software. Experience with Needles/Neos (VIOS) is a significant plus.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in proofreading and file maintenance.
- Location: Ability to work full-time on-site in Newport, RI.
