Job Purpose:
The Sample Intake role is responsible for the accurate receipt, documentation, and processing of customer samples in compliance with state regulations, chain of custody requirements, and internal laboratory procedures. This position ensures sample traceability within LIMS and METRC while working collaboratively with laboratory staff to prioritize workflow and meet customer needs. The role also serves as a customer-facing point of contact, requiring strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Pay: $22.00
Essential Duties Responsibilities
- Responsible for the processing of customer samples for laboratory testing.following sample intake standard operating procedures and chain of custody guidelines
- Log samples into laboratory information management systems and METRC to track sample traceability.
- Photograph samples following aseptic guidelines using Logitech Webcam software
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff and management on the prioritization of samples to meet customer needs
- Assist customers with sample submission requirements following state regulations
- Identify sample intake issues and bring issues to the attention of management for quick resolution.
- Assist in ordering supplies for the laboratory
- Assist in the disposition of samples using LIMS and METRC following state regulations
- Answering phones and communicate clearly and in a professional manner
- Customer facing responsibilities include nurturing relationships with existing and new customers
- Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work, problem solve, and communicate with multiple levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced deadline environment while successfully managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain an incredibly high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong agility, engagement, and flexibility in an ever-changing environment.
- Working knowledge of logging data.
- Proficiency working with Laboratory Internal Management and Customer Relations Management Systems.
Education Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong understanding of standard laboratory protocol a plus.
- Knowledge of principles, terminology, practices and techniques is a plus.
- Food science and/pr environmental experience is a plus.
- Exposure to the cannabis industry is a plus.
Other:
- Must pass Level 2 background check.
- Must be at least 21 years old.

The standard analytical laboratory environment is one in which potential health hazards do exist. Laboratory staff can be expected to work in areas where hazards associated are with, but not limited to, airborne pathogens. Biological materials, hazardous substances, and radioactive material exist and are handled.
