Job Summary
Elementium Materials is seeking an experienced and visionary VP of Business Development/Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead our commercial efforts and drive the growth of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership position will be responsible for defining and executing the commercial strategy, overseeing sales, marketing, and customer engagement, and developing key partnerships and business opportunities to expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science, advanced technologies, or related industries with a proven track record of success in scaling businesses and building high-impact relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth, market share, and long-term customer relationships.
- Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and markets for Elementium Materials’ products and technologies.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, and partners to enhance Elementium’s brand and market presence.
- Oversee the negotiation and closing of large-scale contracts and partnerships with both existing and new clients.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to define and refine the company’s product roadmap, ensuring commercial viability and market demand.
- Provide strategic input on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to inform product development and innovation.
- Represent Elementium Materials at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings, positioning the company as a thought leader in the materials space.
- Requires significant domestic and international travel.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the battery industry.
- Preferred 10+ years in business development, sales, or commercial leadership roles, preferably in advanced materials, manufacturing, technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the materials science industry, technology commercialization, and business development cycles. Preferred experience with battery electrolyte technologies.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships, and managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, result-driven approach to business development and customer acquisition.
- Experience negotiating offtake agreements.
- Undergraduate degree in engineering preferred.
- Advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.
