Position Overview
Seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice. The Associate will play a critical role in transaction execution, industry research, client communication, and financial modeling. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lean team structure, takes ownership, and wants day‑one impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Execution
- Lead day‑to‑day execution of M&A, private placement, and strategic advisory engagements.
- Build, review, and own complex financial models (DCF, LBO, merger models, valuation comps).
- Manage due diligence processes, virtual data rooms, and cross‑functional workstreams.
- Prepare and refine client deliverables, including CIMs, management presentations, and strategic analyses.
- Industry & Client Development
- Conduct in‑depth healthcare and life sciences market research, competitive analyses, and thematic sector work.
- Support senior bankers with idea generation, pitch materials, and new business development.
- Participate in client meetings and be a direct point of contact for management teams.
- Internal Leadership
- Mentor Analysts and ensure high‑quality output from junior team members.
- Help refine internal processes, knowledge management, and sector-specific materials.
Qualifications
- Experience
- 2–4+ years of investment banking experience (or equivalent private equity, corporate development, or consulting with strong modeling exposure).
- Prior exposure to healthcare or life sciences markets strongly preferred (biotech, medtech, diagnostics, HCIT, healthcare services).
- Technical Skills
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation capabilities.
- Strong command of Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.
- Experience preparing marketing materials, CIMs, and transaction documentation.
- Soft Skills
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and project‑management skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced environment with a high degree of ownership.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in a boutique team culture.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, life sciences, or a related field.
- MBA, PhD, or advanced degree are prefered but not required.
