Position OverviewReporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Communications Manager will lead TRC's marketing strategy and brand visibility initiatives. This role combines strategic marketing campaign development with media relations and digital advertising to drive awareness, engagement, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate brings expertise in multi-channel marketing, proven campaign management skills, and the ability to translate TRC's mission into compelling outreach that reaches both traditional and new audiences.
Essential ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy & Campaign Management (40%)- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategy across digital and traditional channels
- Design and manage marketing campaigns for studio services, events, programs, and partnerships
- Create and optimize Google Ads campaigns to drive studio bookings and program enrollment
- Build and manage email marketing campaigns using Mailchimp or similar platforms
- Track campaign performance and ROI, providing regular reports with actionable insights
- Develop audience segmentation strategies to target different user groups effectively
- Create promotional materials and marketing collateral that align with brand standards
- Manage marketing budget and vendor relationships
- Collaborate with development team on fundraising campaign communications
Media Relations & Public Relations (25%)- Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and music industry media
- Write and distribute press releases for programs, events, and organizational milestones
- Pitch stories to journalists and secure media coverage
- Serve as media contact and coordinate interview requests
- Create media kits and press materials
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends
- Build partnerships with music industry publications and blogs
- Represent TRC at industry events and networking opportunities
Digital Marketing & Content Strategy (20%)- Manage social media presence across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok)
- Create engaging content that showcases TRC's impact, artist stories, and community
- Develop content calendar aligned with organizational priorities
- Optimize website content for SEO and user experience
- Analyze digital metrics (Google Analytics, social media insights) to inform strategy
- Create and manage digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, social media ads)
- Develop email marketing automation and segmentation
- Maintain brand consistency across all digital touchpoints
Partnership Marketing & Community Engagement (15%)- Support partnership development with marketing materials and promotional strategies
- Coordinate cross-promotional campaigns with community partners
- Develop co-marketing opportunities with artists, venues, and organizations
- Create case studies and impact stories that demonstrate TRC's value
- Manage event promotion and documentation
- Foster community storytelling and user-generated content
- Coordinate with booking and operations teams to align marketing with capacity
Required Qualifications- 5+ years experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
- Proven track record managing successful multi-channel marketing campaigns
- Experience with Google Ads and digital advertising platforms
- Strong email marketing expertise (HubSpot or similar platforms)
- Demonstrated media relations experience with proven results securing coverage
- Excellence in project management with ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills with experience using Google Analytics and campaign metrics
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing marketing budgets and vendor relationships
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) or Canva
- Experience with Google Workspace and project management tools
Preferred Qualifications- Background in arts, music industry, or cultural sector marketing
- Experience with nonprofit marketing and mission-driven communications
- Knowledge of Boston arts and music ecosystem
- Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot, Intercom)
- Video editing and multimedia content creation skills
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms
- Experience with data analysis tools (AirTable, SurveyMonkey)
- Bilingual capabilities

Working Environment- Full-time position at 960 Mass Ave, Boston
- Hybrid flexibility available after initial onboarding period
- Core hours: Monday-Friday, 10 AM-6 PM (some flexibility available)
- Some evening and weekend hours required for events and campaign launches

Compensation & Benefits- Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
