Summary
We are seeking an accomplished scientific leader to serve as Director, Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine, with a strong track record of driving innovative programs from early discovery through IND filing and into clinical development. The successful candidate will provide scientific and strategic leadership for projects in stem cell and regenerative medicine, including iPSC, MSC, and other cell-based therapeutic platforms, and play a key role in advancing programs from concept to clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee stem cell and regenerative medicine programs from project initiation through preclinical candidate (PCC) nomination and IND filing.
- Design, implement, and manage research strategies to support discovery, preclinical validation, and regulatory submissions.
- Provide scientific leadership in stem cell biology, immunology, and regenerative medicine approaches to support therapeutic development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CMC, toxicology, regulatory, clinical) to ensure seamless transition of assets into development.
- Mentor, build, and manage high-performing scientific teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Evaluate new technologies, external collaborations, and licensing opportunities in the stem cell and regenerative medicine space.
- Represent the company at scientific, clinical, and business meetings; contribute to publications, patents, and presentations.
Qualifications
- PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent advanced degree in stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, immunology, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in biopharma/biotech R&D with significant focus on stem cell or regenerative medicine programs.
- Proven track record of leading discovery programs through IND filing, with at least one program advanced into clinical development.
- Deep understanding of iPSC/MSC biology, differentiation, cell therapy manufacturing, and regulatory requirements for cell-based therapeutics.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute translational strategies bridging preclinical discovery and clinical development.
- Strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders.
