Job Tittle: Grocery Department Lead

Summary: Ensure the efficient operation of the grocery department by maintaining optimal inventory levels, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. The vision is to create a well-organized, customer-friendly grocery section that consistently meets sales and profitability targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Ordering and Inventory Management : Oversee inventory levels to ensure shelves are well- stocked and products are rotated properly. Conduct regular stock checks and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishments.
- Product Quality: Ensure all grocery products are fresh, properly stored , and displayed according to company standards. Regularly check for expired or damaged items and remove them from the shelves.
- Scheduling Assistance : Assist in creating and maintaining staff schedules.
- Log Maintenance : Maintain daily receiving logs and other necessary documentation.
- Customer Service: Greet customers, provide prompt and courteous service, and handle special orders and inquiries.
- Merchandising: Ensure the department is well-stocked, properly signed, and attractively displayed.
- Safety and Cleanliness : Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies. Maintain a clean and organized department.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail or supermarket environment, preferably in a grocery department.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering processe
Knowledge
- Familiarity with various grocery products and their handling requirements.
- Understanding of inventory management and ordering processes.
- Basic math skills for calculating discounts, percentages, and gross margins.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.
Specific Skills
- Ability to complete reports accurately, including sales reports, inventory counts, and receiving logs.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet productivity, accuracy, cleanliness, harmony, and safety standards.
Physical requirement
- Ability to lift heavy objects occasionally.
- Capability to climb ladders for retrieving items from overhead racks and storage areas.
- Perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and carrying out trash.
- Respond quickly to emergencies like spills or breakages.
- Work in various temperature environments.
- Tolerate moderate dust and chemical fumes from cleaning agents.
