Assistant Studio Manager
Part-Time (Weekends) | Musicians Playground | Downtown Crossing, Boston
Pay: $25 per hour
Who We Are
Musicians Playground is Boston's first and only "gym for musicians," a vibrant music community and creative playground designed for adults who want more joy, connection, and self-expression in their lives. Located in a beautifully designed studio in Downtown Crossing, we offer private lessons, group classes, team-building events, and unlimited access to instruments.
We're looking for a warm, dependable Assistant Studio Manager to keep our weekends running smoothly and make every member feel at home from the moment they walk through the door.
The Role
This is a part-time, member-facing weekend role at the heart of our studio. Working alongside and in support of our Studio Manager, you'll be the friendly face who keeps Saturdays and Sundays running beautifully: welcoming members and guests, supporting lessons and classes, and keeping the space looking and feeling its best. If you love people, take pride in the details, and want to be part of a close-knit creative community, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Be Doing
Member Experience & Community:
- Greet members and guests warmly and make every weekend visit feel welcoming, personal, and special
- Help build the relationships and sense of belonging that turn members into a genuine community
- Answer questions, give tours, and help new and prospective members feel at home
- Support a phenomenal Intro Week experience for first-time guests
Studio Operations:
- Open and close the studio on weekend shifts, following our standards and checklists
- Keep the space clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the day
- Manage instruments, supplies, and inventory, flagging anything that needs repair or restocking
- Help set up and reset rooms between lessons, classes, and events
Support & Coordination:
Support the Studio Manager and instructors so lessons and classes run on time and without friction
Communicate clearly with ownership and the weekday team about anything that happens over the weekend
Help with occasional studio events and member activities
Who You Are
- Warm, personable, and genuinely energized by making people feel welcome
- Reliable and punctual, someone the team can count on to own the weekend
- Organized, with strong attention to detail and good judgment in the moment
- A clear communicator who follows through
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Customer-facing experience (fitness studio, hospitality, retail, wellness, or similar) is a plus
- Passionate about music, the arts, or personal growth
Schedule & Location
Part-time, 12 hours per week, weekends:
- Saturday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Plus occasional studio events outside of regular hours.
Located at 33 West Street, Boston, MA 02111 (Downtown Crossing), accessible from all T lines.
Compensation & Perks
- $25 per hour

- Paid training, with room to grow into a larger role as we expand
- A fun, supportive team and a creative community you'll actually enjoy being part of
