Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Physical Therapy Assistant - I to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing personalized care plans for patients across various settings such as inpatient, outpatient, geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and more.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques—including trigger point therapy—and assist with modalities to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatments accurately in accordance with medical terminology and physiology principles.
- Support discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility aids, and home safety strategies to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes in settings like skilled nursing facilities, clinics, or home health environments.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all patient interactions.
- Participate in ongoing training related to anatomy knowledge, physiotherapy techniques, and specialized therapies such as trigger point therapy.
Requirements
- Certification or licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
- Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and physiotherapy practices.
- Experience with diverse patient populations including geriatrics.
- Familiarity with care plans development, discharge planning processes, and documentation standards.
- Ability to perform effectively in acute care environments and outpatient clinics requiring adaptable treatment approaches.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
