Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Color Guard Director for the Fall and Winter season, to lead and elevate our strong color guard program. This role involves designing drill, mentoring talented students, and fostering a vibrant team spirit. As the guiding force behind our color guard performances, you will cultivate creativity, discipline, and teamwork, ensuring every member shines on stage. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape young performers’ skills while promoting a lively and positive environment. Pay is fully negotiable and we are willing to work with you!
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and engaging color guard drill that align with performance themes and enhance overall show quality
- Lead rehearsals to teach choreography, flag work, dance techniques, and coordination skills with enthusiasm and clarity
- Mentor students in their artistic growth, encouraging confidence, discipline, and teamwork
- Coordinate costume design, props, and equipment management to ensure seamless performances
- Collaborate with band directors to synchronize visual effects with musical arrangements
- Organize team practices, competitions, and while maintaining a motivating atmosphere
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their dancing, ballet movements, cheerleading stunts, and theater expressions
Skills
- Strong background in color/winter guard, dancing and performing arts to inspire versatile routines
- Proven experience working with students of diverse ages and skill levels in a teaching or coaching capacity
- Excellent communication skills to clearly demonstrate techniques and motivate performers
- Ability to choreograph routines that incorporate dance, flag work, and theater expressions.
- Passion for arts education combined with a lively, energetic approach that encourages creativity and teamwork
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to dance movements and stunt work to ensure student well-being
- Enthusiasm for fostering a positive environment where students feel inspired to excel in their craft
Pay: $1,500.00 - $3,500.00 per year
