Our Massachusetts Healthcare client is seeking a detail-oriented
Buyer to manage the procurement of goods, services, and equipment for a hospital setting. This role ensures timely purchasing, cost efficiency, and uninterrupted operations by working closely with internal departments and vendors. This nearly 100% remote role has an initial duration of 18 months. Our client strongly prefers candidates located in New England.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage purchase orders from initiation through delivery
- Research vendors, obtain quotes, and negotiate pricing
- Monitor order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with hospital purchasing policies and procedures
- Support departments with product selection and sourcing options
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through contracts and standardization
- Coordinate product recalls, returns, and inventory updates
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant purchasing or procurement experience
- 2 years of occupationally-specific education (or equivalent)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
