What We’re Looking For
The Supply Chain Specialist ensures safe and efficient inventory management across the full production lifecycle, including but not limited to the following functions: Shipping/receiving, inventory level & stock movement monitoring, conducting cycle counts, and kitting work orders to support Manufacturing & Operations. The Supply Chain Specialist will work closely with the production team, ultimately ensuring timely delivery of materials and managing inventory levels to minimize stock-outs and excess inventory. Keys to success in the role include strong communication and organizational skill, along with fine-tuned attention to detail.
How You'll Drive Impact
Inventory Management & Control
- Develop and maintain inventory control systems to manage stock levels and monitor inventory movements in compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the production team to understand inventory needs and ensure timely delivery of materials, reducing lead times and downtime.
- Continuously monitor inventory levels, minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory while reducing carrying costs and obsolete stock.
- Perform ERP material transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct inventory analysis and cycle counts; research and resolve variances and authorize inventory adjustments.
- Prepare and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure all materials and devices are properly labeled, stored, and traceable according to company policy.
Kitting & Production Support
- Pick and kit materials for use in production based on work orders and bills of materials.
- Monitor and report on the status of kitting and picking activity, including shortages, inventory issues, and fulfillment delays.
- Communicate closely with Manufacturing to prioritize work orders and maintain production flow.
Receiving & Shipping (Fulfillment Integration)
- Receive inbound shipments, verify quantities and quality, and record transactions in NetSuite.
- Coordinate inbound logistics with suppliers, ensuring proper documentation and timely delivery.
- Prepare, package, and ship outgoing devices, accessories, and materials domestically and internationally.
- Schedule and manage courier pickups (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.), ensuring proper labeling and shipment accuracy.
- Maintain shipping logs, delivery confirmations, and all required documentation for regulatory traceability.
- Communicate proactively with Field Clinical Managers, Sales Operations, and Regional Managers regarding shipment status, delivery scheduling, and any potential delays.
- Track and report all outbound fulfillment activities in CRM/ERP systems to ensure accurate delivery records.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Partner with Planning, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment between inventory, production, and order fulfillment schedules.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce waste, and improve material flow.
- Support audits, CAPAs, and compliance initiatives as required.
- Ensure that all procedures and processes are consistently and accurately followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma required, with some college desirable.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
- Medical device manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with some knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with ERP software desired, NetSuite preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with strong attention to detail.
