Chief Financial Officer
Reports to: CEO, Americas
Company: $400M well known manufacturer of consumer goods that has been in existence for almost 100 years. Parent company is $1B and foreign owned/publicly traded.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible and accountable for the integrity, strategic direction and management of the company’s financial, accounting and planning functions, audit and related processes. The CFO is a critical advisor to the CEO and member of the senior leadership team. The individual must be able to partner collaboratively with the other functional and business leaders, drive performance, accountability and higher standards of excellence across the business. The CFO will lead the Legal, & Information Technology functions including leading the installation of an ERP upgrade. The CFO is responsible for the recruitment, development and assessment of all finance and accounting professionals necessary to support the company’s growth. The scope of work is global and being the company’s primary contact with lenders and insurers.
- Lead 4 direct reports ~50 departmental employees
- Communicating all financial matters and issues with senior management
- Delivering results meeting financial and strategic objectives of the business
- Driving business performance, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Collaborating with other functional leaders to establish and effectively deploy strategic plans for the entire global business
- Developing an annual operating plan and related budgets, forecasting and analysis. Leadership and direct involvement with the business and functional leaders in this critical process is expected. Should culminate in a blueprint for achieving overall strategic and operational objectives of the company
- Ensuring leaders have timely data and reporting needed to measure performance and the effectiveness and impact of improvement initiatives, and the analysis needed to understand and address gaps
- Ensuring a culture of integrity, transparency, and compliance with all relevant financial and accounting standards as well as all applicable laws and regulatory requirements
- Drive strategy for the legal function in collaboration with the General Counsel to ensure safeguard the assets of the company
- Experience in installation of Enterprise Resource Planning software as company is in the middle of project
The CFO must have demonstrated deep functional excellence across the breadth of finance and accounting, and must possess a proven track record as an innovative business partner, aligning the finance function to support business strategies and priorities. Further, the successful candidate must have experience driving transformational change involving elements of organization structure, process, and especially culture, leading to a step change in performance.
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically, with a bias for action and results
- Commercial oriented individual who has worked with sales & marketing teams in a collaborative manner
- Understand claims analysis/management
- FP& A strategy focused
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS
- Bachelors in Business or Finance desired. Advanced degree preferred.
