Job Overview
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machine tools to manufacture and inspect high-precision products. The role performs production machining operations according to drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and established time requirements while maintaining accurate production records.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate various CNC machine tools according to company procedures and production standards.
- Perform repetitive production machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
- Inspect completed machined parts to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Transmit and receive CNC programs and maintain computerized or manual production records.
- Provide technical assistance and on-the-job training to other employees.
- Maintain quality, productivity, and accuracy throughout the machining process.
- Follow company safety, quality, and shop-floor procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.
- CNC machining/setup and operation experience.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
- Experience inspecting precision-machined parts.
- Basic computer skills and ability to work with computerized production systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with coworkers.
- Technical or vocational machining education is preferred.
- Ability to stand and work on the shop floor and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
