About The Opportunity
An innovative biotechnology company developing next-generation biomarker discovery and precision health solutions is seeking a
Fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO) to support strategic growth and operational execution. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to establish scalable business operations, drive corporate initiatives, and support the company's expansion within the U.S. life sciences market.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute corporate growth strategies
- Build and optimize operational processes across business, scientific, and administrative functions
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve organizational efficiency and scalability
- Support budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and operational forecasting
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics
- Assist in fundraising activities, investor communications, and strategic partnership initiatives
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, including research collaborators, vendors, consultants, and business partners
- Drive project management efforts to ensure alignment of corporate objectives and timelines
- Evaluate and implement systems, policies, and infrastructure necessary for company growth
- Provide leadership and guidance on organizational development and operational best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a COO, VP Operations, General Manager, or similar executive leadership role
- Prior experience within biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare technology, diagnostics, or related industries strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success supporting early-stage or growth-stage companies
- Strong knowledge of business operations, strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development
- Experience working with investors, boards, and external strategic partners
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment
- MBA, advanced scientific degree, or equivalent experience preferred
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting commercialization of biotech, diagnostics, or healthcare innovation platforms
- Familiarity with research collaborations, technology partnerships, and regulated healthcare environments
- Background in scaling startup operations and building organizational infrastructure
