Cambrian College’s Advancement Department requires a Manager of Alumni and Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Role
Under the direction of the Director, Alumni and Development, the Manager, Alumni and Development, plays a critical role within the organization, overseeing an extensive awards program funded through the College endowment and annual contributions:
- Manage the College’s Awards Program, which encompasses over 500 awards, while ensuring the accurate annual disbursement of interest earned through the College’s endowment portfolio
- Work closely with the Awards Specialist to ensure the College Awards Program adheres to stipulated timelines and fulfills donor/award requirements
- Administer both new and existing awards in the Banner Student Aid system, covering aspects such as opening and closing date, budget allocation, the number of awards and the program updates
- Play a leading role in the planning and execution of the Annual Awards Reception
- Serve as the liaison for donors, sponsors, and industry partners, facilitating their connections with relevant contacts within the College as needed
- Possess a strong understanding of Cambrian’s academic programs and overall offerings to support donor cultivation efforts effectively
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of the annual fund development strategy, aimed at bolstering Cambrian College’s fundraising efforts and revenue expansion
- Manage an evolving portfolio of sponsorship-based events and activities hosted by the College, involving the identification, solicitation, and nurturing of new partners on an annual basis
- Work closely with the Career Services and Recruitment team to facilitate robust networking and advancement opportunities for both alumni-to-alumni and student-to-alumni connections
- Supervise the daily operations of the Development & Events and Development & Database Officers, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Assist the Director of Alumni and Development in overseeing the management of placement/TEFEE students throughout the year
Qualifications
Required:
- Must possess minimum two year diploma in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration or a related field.(A copy of educational documents must be submitted with the application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
- Fundraising experience and/or sales experience or training
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong initiative, organization and time management skills.
Additional Assets/Preferred
- Fundraising Management Certificate is considered at asset
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) Designation
- Experience using donor/contact management software (i.e Donor Perfect, Raiser’s Edge, Tessitura)
