We're looking for a hands-on, highly skilled Carpenter to work with our team in building beautiful homes! If you have extensive experience in carpentry within residential framing, finished carpentry, or luxury windows and doors installations, know your way around a blueprint, and love working with a team on projects where quality comes first, this could be the perfect fit. What You'll Be Doing:
- Carpentry operations at all levels on residential projects, including framing of floors, walls, roof framing, cutting rafters, framing of stairs, railings, landings, sheathing, and generally constructing the parts of a building project
- Finish carpentry operations at all levels on residential projects, including installation of trim and molding such as base, casing, crown, and chair rails, doors and windows, cabinetry, and millwork
- Installing various types of exterior siding and trim, including cedar and composite clapboards, cedar and composite shingles, board and baton, and vinyl siding, wood, and composite trim
- Read and interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and structural details accurately to determine the appropriate layout and installation procedures
- Independently manage your own daily workflow, including prioritization, daily job planning, and time management, to ensure all deadlines and customer expectations are met
- Perform quality control checks and proactively address any framing or finished carpentry issues
- Fundamental understanding of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical trades to interact with subcontractors in helping these and other trades complete their project work in a professional manner
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety standards, and project specifications
- Maintain a safe job site and ensure code compliance
- May be required to manage other carpenters or subcontractors on small jobs
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of residential carpentry experience and knowledge in all phases of residential remodeling and construction procedures
- Rough carpentry experience, including layout, rafters, and stairs
- Finish carpentry experience, including trim, cabinetry, installation, and interior finishes
- Knowledge and understanding of MA building codes
- Reliable, organized, and a strong communicator with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, employees, specialty trade contractors, and vendors
- Able to work outdoors in all seasons and lift 50+ lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
- Achieve and maintain OSHA and RRP certifications as needed
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
- Must be a team player, be open-minded, have a curiosity and desire to continuously learn, improve, and share this information with others
- Must be optimistic, be willing to adapt and change to new perspectives, and want to proactively participate in the success of the project as well as the company
- Must have your own tools
