Founded in 1998, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is a high-performing public charter school serving more than 1,750 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Students in Grades K–12 attend school in dress code and benefit from an extended academic calendar consisting of 200 instructional days each year. In addition, the school day is approximately 60 minutes longer than that of most traditional public schools. Job Description
Plus One Teachers provide departmental and classroom support across the school, with responsibilities focused primarily on classroom coverage, instructional assistance, and administrative support. Successful candidates will play an important role in maintaining instructional continuity and supporting the school’s academic and behavioral expectations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily classroom organization, routines, and schedules
- Support classroom behavior management through the implementation of the school’s 4:1 ratio of positive reinforcement
- Effectively implement designated curricula, including Direct Instruction and Core Knowledge programs
- Document lesson implementation and student progress daily and submit reports weekly to the Professional Development Coordinator (PDC)
- Provide weekly feedback regarding the effectiveness and outcomes of Core Knowledge lessons
- Participate in all required professional development and training sessions
- Attend and actively contribute to grade-level meetings, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and staff meetings
- Participate in IEP meetings and support accommodations and modifications as required by IEPs and 504 plans
- Complete progress reports, report cards, and grading responsibilities as assigned
- Attend and conduct parent-teacher conferences during the fall and spring semesters
- Participate in school-wide events, including Back to School Night, Open Houses, holiday performances, and the High School Senior Luncheon
- Fulfill assigned morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon duties
- Support and uphold all school policies, procedures, and expectations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher or administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound instructional decisions
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with school policies, state regulations, and federal laws
- Strong collaboration, instructional, leadership, and classroom support skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team-oriented environment
- Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment
This position is evaluated annually and is offered on a yearly appointment basis.
