Position Summary
Cambrian College’s Admissions team has an immediate requirement for (2) two Admissions Officers on leave replacement basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain processes in support of admissions, including execution of admissions-related workflows, protocols, and processes for all applicants as well as for third-party delivery partners.
- Review and assess applicant program eligibility and make admissions decisions according to established criteria, as well as according to federal and provincial guidelines relating to visa applications.
- Evaluate foreign and domestic educational credentials for equivalency to Ontario standards, as well as for authenticity and suitability.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of applicant records; review error and exception reports for quality assurance and work to address gaps.
- Act as a key point of contact for applicants and communicate with applicants regarding the status of their application, including providing details regarding outstanding requirements, testing, or other admission-related requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding application information requirements related to application processing (e.g., academic departments, third-party delivery partners, agents, etc.)
- Support the ongoing development, analysis, and dissemination of admissions models and metrics.
Qualifications
Required
- Must have a three-year postsecondary diploma, degree, or equivalent.(A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
- Three years of demonstrated experience working with and maintaining records systems.
- The ability to balance multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Effective communication skills and good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Collaborative professional who promotes teamwork and works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
Additional Assets/Preferred
- Experience working in a post-secondary educational setting, with a focus in admissions.
- Experience making decisions according to established criteria and internal and external policies and regulations
- Proficiency in a second language.
