Position Summary
Cambrian College’s Pathways, Partnerships, and Professional Learning has an immediate requirement for a part-time Academic Success Advisor on a temporary basis until August 2026.
(Flexibility in scheduling is required for this role).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, academic student-centered support to students enrolled in programs.
- Analyze academic progress of the students as necessary.
- Contact and advise students in person and/or via phone, email, and other online tools, including social media platforms.
- Record and maintain student interactions.
- Plan and execute student outreach activities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three-year postsecondary diploma or degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or comparable. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application).
- Three years of experience in advising students.
- Must have demonstrated excellence in customer service, sound knowledge of the programs and skill sets within the Schools, and experience in student advising.
- Ability to act as an effective role model for students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise tact and good judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Collaborative professional who promotes teamwork and works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
