Job Title: Marina Boatyard Customer Service Assistant

Glyn’s Marine is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customer Service Administrator with marina, auto dealership, transportation or similar customer service experience to join our team. General knowledge of boating and Nantucket’s boating lifestyle is preferred.
This individual will work with the General Operations Manager alongside the Parts and Service Manager to assist with daily office and service shop operations and provide administrative and customer service as directed by the General Operations and Parts and Service Manager. We are looking for a professional who can multitask and enjoy sharing our dedication to delivering outstanding marine services to Nantucket’s boating community.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Maintain professional customer communications by following up with customers via telephone and email to provide status updates on work orders and service estimates, assist with showroom walk-in customers and fielding telephone inquiries.
- Boatyard Operations: Support boatyard and service shop daily activity as requested by the General Operations Manager and Parts and Service Manager. Maintain accurate records and supplies for wastewater treatment system, monitor HAZMAT compliance reporting and monitor work environment safety standards. Assist with mooring application renewals, maintaining a master list of mooring locations, and monitor and post daily work orders and mooring maps on digital displays for staff to reference.
- Vehicles and Service Boats: Maintain registrations, insurance cards, and DOT reporting for work trucks, trailers, service boats and monitor equipment maintenance and service shop for safety standards. Assist with coordinating CDL and Hoister license training for staff, arrange travel for Yamaha Tech training.
- Temporary Workers: Assist with annual work visa permit applications, hiring of foreign and local workers, and assist with locating housing rentals for temporary staff when needed.
- Business Office Administrative: Provide administrative assistance utilizing marina office software, reconciling employee timecards, organizing and submitting invoices, facilitating the approval of payments to vendors and suppliers, and maintaining clean and organized work areas.
Qualifications
- General understanding of marina industry, boating, boat terminology, and Nantucket’s boating lifestyle is a plus
- 3-5 years of experience in the service industry (marine/automotive/transportation) with some knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in various management software and Microsoft platforms; expertise in Excel
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with effective communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and manage multiple priorities Preferred Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with customers both in person and via telephone and email
Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Pay: $35.00 per hour
