Reports To: Chief Operations Officer (COO) or Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The Head of Procurement will lead the organization’s procurement strategy and operations, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality goods and services in a cost-effective, efficient, and compliant manner.
This executive-level role drives strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation while aligning procurement activities with the company’s operational and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with corporate goals and drives operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Oversee sourcing, negotiation, and contracting for goods and services, ensuring optimal value and compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering partnerships that drive innovation, reliability, and competitive pricing.
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and risk to proactively adjust procurement strategies and maintain supply chain resilience.
- Implement procurement policies, processes, and technologies to streamline operations, increase transparency, and support cost control initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Product teams to identify procurement needs and optimize spend.
- Report on procurement performance metrics, cost savings, and contractual obligations to executive leadership.
- Champion sustainability, diversity, and ethical sourcing standards across all procurement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible procurement or supply chain experience within the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in vendor management, strategic sourcing, and negotiation of complex contracts.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to optimize cost and operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across functions and with external partners.
- Familiarity with procurement technologies (ERP systems, e-procurement platforms) and data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and ethical sourcing practices.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Experience in hospitality industry-specific areas; restaurants, hotels, resorts, or corporate dining.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence executive-level decisions.
- Capacity to lead management initiatives and implement process improvements.
