The Dover Town Library is looking for a creative, community-minded Young Adult Librarian & Events Coordinator to join our collaborative team. This role is the primary advocate for Dover’s tweens and teens, planning events and curating a teen-targeted collection. It also serves as the creative engine behind our library-wide communications, including social media, promotional flyers, and newsletters. If you love the energy of a teen DIY craft one hour and the strategic puzzle of a marketing plan the next, you’ll fit right in.
An ideal candidate will genuinely enjoy tweens and teens in a small suburban library, have big ideas alongside the organizational skills to see them to completion, champion YA services, and thrive in a small-team environment where we all wear multiple hats and support one another’s projects.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Masters of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited school as well as 1-3 years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered. Current MLIS candidates are encouraged to apply.
Hours: 35 hours per week, working 1-2 evenings per week and a regular Saturday rotation.
Compensation: $32.81 - $41.31/hour in 10 steps, plus benefits. Hiring range closer to $32.81. This is a non-exempt, non-union position.
To apply, please include a cover letter, resume, list of references, and a completed Town of Dover employment application. Submit application materials to the Dover Town Library Director, Bethany Klem, at bklem@doverma.gov, or Library Director, Dover Town Library, 56 Dedham St., Dover, MA 02030.
