The Chief Strategy Officer will report to the CEO and serve as a catalyst to accelerate Scientific Systems' transition into a scalable autonomy product company by integrating market shaping, program capture, capability maturation, and executive technical credibility. This role is intended to significantly create value. This role is designed to accelerate long-term valuation through strategic program capture, product maturation, and market authority.
Essential Functions:
- Align Technology and Solutions roadmaps with emerging defense autonomy demand to drive reusable, scalable product capabilities
- Engage DARPA, DoD, primes, and strategic partners to shape high-leverage programs before formal RFP release, positioning SSCI as a lead autonomy innovator
- Convert program-driven innovation into repeatable, defensible product platforms
- Identify and mature critical autonomy technologies required for sustained 3-5 year leadership
- Serve as senior technical ambassador to defense customers, primes, and ecosystem partners, elevating SSCI's standing in autonomy
- Provide investor technical briefings on Diligence defense, Vision articulation, and Long-term product narrative credibility
- Accelerate long-term valuation through strategic program capture, product maturation, market authority, and capital formation support
- Shape and secure high-value autonomy and defense programs that expand SSCI's strategic positioning
- Contract awards, funded program milestones, or documented strategic capture influence
- Drive measurable progress toward scalable autonomy products and reusable capability platforms
- Actively participate in investor briefings and technical diligence. Successful financing event or valuation milestone
- This role may require extensive travel, must be able to travel when necessary
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 15 years of related work experience
- 10+ years of experience working in a senior management role
- Active DOD Security Clearance
- Extensive experience of DOD acquisition processes, government contracting, and international defense initiatives
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, business development, and research oversight to security defense contracts
- Prior experience managing corporate budgets
