In this role, you will design and execute molecular and cell biology experiments focused on evaluation of candidate molecules, and development of novel biomarkers. You will interact and collaborate cross-functionally with scientists in other departments, including biochemists, chemists, and computational and structural biologists while growing your understanding of drug discovery and helping bring medicines to patients.
Your Role:
- Design and perform cell and molecular biology experiments to support the biological evaluation of small molecules impacting biological targets
- Optimize and conduct weekly cell-based assays to enable medicinal chemistry efforts and structure activity relationship assessment
- Develop and perform target engagement and pharmacodynamic assays from cells and/or in vivo samples
- Maintain good written records of laboratory procedures, results and conclusions
- Analyze data carefully and report findings to the team
- Collaborate with CROs for any outsourcing needs and integrate data analysis
- Present your work at regular department and company meetings
Your Background:
- MS/BS, 2-5 years of industry experience in drug development
- Exceptional tissue and cell culture skills
- Experience designing, executing and troubleshooting high throughput screens
- Adept at nucleic acid purification, DNA cloning, qPCR, Western blotting, reporter transcriptional assays, immunoprecipitation, ELISAs, si/shRNA, CRISPR, lentiviral gene knockdown, imaging
- Ability to design and execute experiments, analyze and document results
