The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance and repairs throughout the building.
Duties & Responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician:
- Responsible for maintenance operations of the interior and exterior areas of the building.
- Responds to residents’ maintenance concerns.
- Responds and maintains all building related safety concerns and resident requests.
- Maintain all areas of Thirwood Place by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering, and tile to ensure attractive and well-maintained facility.
- Survey building and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
- Replenishing supplies and keeping storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Setting meeting spaces and garbage removal.
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
- Basic understanding of electrical, and other systems
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and carpet extractor. Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing floors as necessary.
- Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool area.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
