Job Description
Job Purpose: Monitors and controls the procedural applications, interventions and activities of the functionality through the planning and co-ordination of the Fleet Management Services (control of municipal fleet and plant) within the Municipality in accordance with the relevant legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
Duties:
- Monitors and controls the activities associated with the Fleet Management Services.
- Co-ordinate and control fleet and plant maintenance and administration processes.
- Compliance with the relevant legislation.
- Ensure that human resources needs are identified and attended to, supervise, support, and monitor performance.
- Coordinates the functioning and processing of information associated with the section.
- Ensure optimal utilization of the system to meet the organization’s goals and adherence to fleet management policy.
- Performs various financial and statistical statutory reporting requirements.
- Performs vehicle inspections on the designated vehicle.
- Compile reports against fleet and plant in respect to repairs, maintenance and fuel and submit to the immediate superior.
- Adherence to the OHS policy.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma (NQF level 6) in either one of the following: Transport Economics or Logistics; Fleet Management; Economics; Accounting; Public Finance and Management
- 2 years relevant experience
- Valid Code B Driver’s License
- Computer skills (MS Office)
- Proficient in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages in the Western Cape
