Main Capital Partners is seeking a driven, analytical, and entrepreneurial Private Equity Analyst to join our growing North American investment team in Boston.
Main Capital Partners is a software investor focused exclusively on software and SaaS businesses managing private equity funds across Northwestern Europe and North America. With more than 20 years of experience, we partner closely with management teams to accelerate profitable growth and build well-positioned software companies.
Today, Main manages approximately $14 billion in assets and has completed more than 300 software investments. Our team of over 100 professionals operates from in North America and Europe including offices in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Nordics, France, and the UK.

Job description
As a Private Equity Analyst, you will play an active role throughout the investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to executing transactions and supporting portfolio companies. You will work closely with experienced investment professionals and gain hands-on exposure to all aspects of private equity investing.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and execute investment opportunities
- Financial modeling, valuation analysis, and returns analysis for various investment targets
- Conduct financial and operational due diligence
- Prepare investment memos and other deal-related documents
- Support portfolio companies through KPI tracking, active support on M&A strategies, and value creation initiatives
- Execution of market and industry research
- Active involvement in finding new investment targets
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who combine strong analytical capabilities with an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in software investing.
Preferred background
- Currently based in the Boston area or willing to relocate (5 days in the office)
- Strong academic background in finance, business, economics, or a related field
- 1 to 3 years of (MM or LMM) investment banking experience (or equivalent transaction advisory experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior financial technical skills including analysis, modeling, budgeting, and forecasting (there will be a modeling test)
- Strong analytical abilities
- Superb interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to work in a team and independently
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong desire to build Main’s US presence alongside senior employees
