ARCA Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join ARCA Health. The PT/PTA will work with participants to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence. This position plays a key role in helping participants maintain their highest level of physical function and quality of life while supporting ARCA Health's mission of providing responsive, compassionate, and coordinated care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assessments (PT only).
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on participant needs and goals (PT only).
- Implement therapeutic exercise programs and rehabilitation interventions.
- Provide gait training, balance training, transfer training, and fall prevention strategies.
- Assist participants in improving mobility, strength, flexibility, endurance, and functional independence.
- Monitor participant progress and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team.
- Educate participants, caregivers, and staff on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety practices.
- Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, activity staff, dietary staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate participant care.
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment.
- Participate in care planning meetings and quality improvement activities.
- Respond appropriately to participant incidents and emergencies.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Center Administrator.
QualificationsPhysical Therapist (PT)
Required:
- Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist License in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Required:
- Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant License in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to carry out treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
Preferred Qualifications (PT & PTA)
- One (1) year or more of experience in Adult Day Health, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, or Geriatrics.
- Experience working with older adults and individuals with chronic medical conditions.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist participants throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist participants safely.
- Ability to demonstrate therapeutic exercises and mobility techniques.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
