Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
The Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is an integral member of the FP&A team adding value through assisting in forecasting processes and in the analysis of data to identify variances to plan and areas of interest. Responsible to conduct research (historic and forward looking) to provide insight into variances from plan and projected variances to plan, by preparing management reports to communicate financial results and outlooks. Requires ability to function as a strong business partner to the organization to provide timely, accurate data and interpret information to support management decisions.
Responsibilities
- Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Work with large data sets to conduct financial analysis. Advanced Excel skills including formulas, v-lookup, and pivot tables required to build models and what-if scenarios.
- Assist in gathering monthly forecast/outlook information from department heads. Ensure data properly flows into all templates, reports, and models properly.
- Provide support during the Annual Operating Plan, 6+6 and 9+3 Forecasts
- Maintain BPC (Business Planning & Consolidation system) throughout planning processes to ensure all relevant planning factors and system drivers are updated and included.
- Track monthly marketing spend and league contractual spend. Meet regularly with key stakeholders to align forecast to actuals and identify issues.
- Run reports to confirm plan inputs with department heads, communicate gaps and issues in the input data or the system calculations.
- Assist in creating monthly and quarterly consolidated management reports for leadership.
- Work cross-functionally to support Accounting and month end close tasks including COGS analysis and inventory turns.
- Understand business drivers and anticipate financial impacts of strategic initiatives.
- Maintain & manage ad hoc data and analysis requests to aid in decision making
- Keeps all sensitive matters confidential, Process confidential data and information according to guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with physical inventory required. CPG, apparel, footwear, or durable goods.
- Ability to research new and unfamiliar topics objectively
- Ability to extract and analyze large amounts of data using standard, fact-based procedures and identify trends and insights; recommend a solution if applicable

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Finance or Accounting; or a related field; MBA is an asset
- 3-5 years’ work experience in a finance related field
