Shop Assistant Job Summary
Iron Tree Service is seeking an organized, dependable, and proficient shop assistant to join our growing repair and service operation. Candidates should be physically and mentally fit and have some knowledge of technical tools.
Applicants should have some experience with diesel heavy equipment repair so they can determine what parts and tools are necessary for repairs. You must have a valid driver’s license to travel to job sites in case of emergency repair.
Shop Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (CDL a bonus)
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- USDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (a plus)
- OSHA 10 Hours Construction Safety Card (a plus)
- Associate’s degree or vocational/trade school certification preferred
- Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills
- Familiarity with common mechanic’s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work in uncomfortable, physically demanding positions, stand on one’s feet for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Clear communicator, and excellent customer service skills
- Efficient worker
- Welding experience (a plus)
- Coordinated and dexterous

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
