About the Role:The Preschool Director oversees all aspects of Messiah Lutheran Preschool, ensuring that our program remains Christ‑centered, developmentally excellent, safe, and welcoming. This position blends administrative leadership, staff support, family engagement, and hands‑on ministry.
Qualifications:
- Meet all Lead Teacher requirements
- Minimum of six months’ experience after meeting Lead Teacher qualifications
- Completion of at least two credits or three CEUs in Day Care Administration
- Completion of at least two additional credits or three CEUs in approved early childhood education categories
Key Responsibilities:Program Leadership & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all DEEC regulations and licensing requirements
- Maintain required records for staff, children, and volunteers
- Oversee program safety, including health care policies and IPM compliance
- Conduct annual program assessments (ECERS/ITERS)
Staff Management & Development:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise preschool staff
- Lead ongoing professional development and staff training
- Facilitate monthly staff meetings and foster a collaborative team environment
Curriculum & Program Oversight:
- Coordinate and support curriculum development and implementation
- Monitor classroom quality and maintain program standards
Operations & Administration:
- Develop and maintain staff and parent handbooks, policies, and procedures
- Oversee facility maintenance and daily operations
- Prepare annual calendar and maintain program documentation
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the preschool budget
- Establish tuition rates and fees
- Seek and manage funding opportunities and grants
Family & Community Engagement:
- Communicate regularly with families through newsletters and meetings
- Conduct tours and interviews with prospective families
- Encourage parent involvement through events and quarterly meetings
Reporting & Governance:
- Prepare and present reports to church leadership and governing boards
- Complete an annual program report
- Collaborate with church leadership on program planning and oversight
Pay: $50,874.86 - $61,268.65 per year
