Overview/Responsibilities
As anAssistant Project Manager based in our Boston, MA office, you will act as an Owner’s Representative working under the direction of a Project Manager (PM) to support all aspects of project management ranging from small renovations and fit-out assignments through complex ground up developments within a mix of corporate, life sciences, healthcare, higher education, and other institutional projects. Position allows for growth potential with exposure to clients, design and construction teams, project management process and mentorship from leadership. While specific roles and projects may vary, the APM will assist on projects in various planning stages, including feasibility, entitlements, design, construction, and occupancy all ranging in various complexities with total project costs of $1 Million to $100+ Million.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring a detail‑oriented mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to support the planning, coordination, and execution of complex projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Support Project Managers and senior leaders throughout all phases of the project lifecycle to help ensure successful project delivery.
- Assist with the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and support consultant and contractor procurement and selection efforts.
- Track, manage, and update core project controls, including schedules, budgets, monthly requisitions, and cash flow projections.
- Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, and document and distribute meeting minutes and follow‑up items.
- Maintain accurate and well‑organized project records and documentation, providing administrative support across active projects.
- Assist with day‑to‑day project oversight, including vendor coordination, compliance tracking, change order documentation, schedule adherence, and quality control.
- Contribute to proactive problem‑solving and effective communication to support on‑time and successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
- 2-5 years minimum of work experience in project management, construction, design, engineering, or related field working in a client facing role.
- Solutions oriented, collaborative, team player who has a “can-do” attitude and is confident in their ability to reach solutions in a dynamic process.
- Detail orientated with ability to balance multiple priorities and deliverables on various assignments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact well with internal and external clients.
- Strong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, presentation, MS Office Suite, MS Project, and other project management software.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible to participate in our performance-based incentive compensation bonus plan.
