MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Counseling Department staff, School Counselors, School Psychologists and
School Adjustment Counselors, students and parents in the daily running of the High
School Counseling Center.
Details of Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee Counseling Center office reception area and functions: direct incoming
telephone calls/emails and guide visitors and staff.
Serve as New Student Registrar. Responsible for the registration process for new
student enrollment including collecting and validating multiple registration
documents. Perform tasks required to enroll high school students using the SRC
Registration Gateway Program. Oversee processes of student placement tests
and all follow up steps required for the student(s) to matriculate into ABRHS.
Schedule and facilitate college and university admissions representative visits to
the Counseling Center: notify students, schedule meeting rooms, document
student attendance, maintain up to date admissions representative contact
information Scoir programs.
Schedule and support annual counseling events. Events including but not limited
to College Night for Parents of Seniors, Financial Aid Night, Post- Secondary
Planning Fair, the Evening for Parents of Students with Disabilities. Duties include
scheduling space and procuring AV equipment, producing materials for
distribution, announcements and overseeing the event.
Produce, maintain and update all departmental forms, in both hard copy and
electronic format for use by students, parents, staff and outside agencies.
Maintain the Counseling Center department office supplies.
Create and maintain an aesthetically pleasing environment in the Counseling
Center to promote a welcoming environment for students, parents and guests.

Mastery program.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent with demonstrated successful
experience in administrative capacity or comparable experience.
Associates degree preferred.
Experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and support
related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of
supporting an office of diverse people.
Great customer service and interpersonal skills, able to work
autonomously, prioritize and reprioritize tasks and work efficiently. Ability
to deal tactfully with disgruntled people. Possess excellent organizational
and time management skills.
Possess a thorough knowledge of and familiarity with office technology,
electronic equipment and software applications (Google, Word, Excel) &
School based data systems and operations (SCOIR, Munis, PowerSchool,
and SRC Registration Gateway).
Ability to organize and accurately maintain multiple, hard copy and
electronic filing data systems.
Maintain a friendly, service-oriented personality. Possess the ability to
establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students,
parents and the general public.
Maintain a high level of motivation to help others with reliability and
discretion.
Uphold highest level of confidentiality.
