Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented
Bioprocess Associate Scientist to support routine
mammalian and
induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture activities for our R&D team. This lab-based role focuses on maintaining high-quality cell cultures, supporting differentiation workflows, and independently managing bioprocess operations—including single-use bioreactor systems.
The position follows a
Wednesday–Sunday schedule, providing essential weekend coverage to ensure continuity of bioreactor and cell culture processes. Initial training will occur Monday–Friday for approximately 4–6 weeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine mammalian and iPSC culture activities, including feeding, passaging, expansion, and media changes using aseptic technique.
- Support iPSC differentiation and upstream bioprocess workflows by executing established protocols.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain single-use bioreactor systems, managing multiple units in parallel.
- Assess cell health, morphology, confluency, viability, and cell density using standard analytical techniques.
- Conduct sample fixation to prepare in-process and drug substance material for downstream assays.
- Maintain thorough, timely entries within an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and clearly summarize weekend findings to the broader team.
- Uphold lab safety, quality, and operational standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences with 3–4 years of hands-on laboratory experience, OR M.S. with 1–2 years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in maintaining mammalian cell cultures, including antibiotic-free workflows.
- Experience with bioreactor-, flask-, and plate-based cell culture systems.
- Skilled in aseptic technique and comfortable working independently.
- Excellent organization, communication, and troubleshooting abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with iPSC expansion and differentiation.
- Familiarity with PBS Biotech bioreactor platforms at various scales.
- Experience performing cell fixation for assays such as flow cytometry.
- Comfort working in Benchling or similar ELN systems.

Position is
Full Time, Wednesday – Sunday, 8am – 5pm. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
