Metric Bio is working with a venture-backed life sciences technology company to recruit a Customer Insights Manager. This role sits at the intersection of customer engagement, market insight, and growth strategy, with a strong focus on translating customer outcomes into scalable business impact.
The Customer Insights Manager will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of pharmaceutical R&D landscapes, customer priorities, and market dynamics, and converting this understanding into actionable insights that support commercial growth and long-term customer partnerships.
This is a highly customer-facing role, requiring regular on-site engagement with enterprise customers and close collaboration with internal commercial, operational, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Research pharmaceutical R&D trends, customer development pipelines, and evolving technology areas to inform growth strategy
- Develop customer-centric insights that support commercial positioning, messaging, and engagement strategies
- Create and communicate impact and value frameworks that articulate customer outcomes and business relevance
- Track impact realization across customer engagements and identify expansion opportunities
- Design and manage customer satisfaction and feedback initiatives
- Analyze customer workflows and use cases to improve solution adoption across user personas
- Act as an internal advocate for customer needs, ensuring feedback informs product and service evolution
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders and leadership
- Partner cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and technical teams
- Support customer meetings, industry events, and external engagements as needed
Background & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field
- Experience across market research, customer impact, strategy, consulting, or customer success roles
- Demonstrated exposure to pharmaceutical or biotech R&D environments
- Working knowledge of drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical development processes
- Experience interpreting scientific literature, industry analyses, and R&D datasets
- Strong analytical skills and comfort with data analysis and visualization tools
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, decision-oriented narratives
- Customer-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating with autonomy
- Willingness to spend substantial time engaging customers in person
- Based in the Northeast United States
