Housekeeping Job Description
Job Summary
A privately owned property is seeking a person who will assist the housekeeping team in maintaining a clean, well-organized and tidy property. We are looking for a responsible and self-motivated individual to fill the position of housekeeper. The housekeeper will report directly to the house manager and support the housekeeping team with the daily upkeep of the property.
Personal Requirements
A hard-working, honest and dependable person with great attention to detail to assist in maintaining a high level of cleaning standards at a private property. The candidate should be willing to work alone or as part of a team and be available to work extensive hours over the summer period.
Housekeeper's Range of Responsibilities
- Clean the interior of the home to include heavy and light cleaning
- Make beds and change linens as required
- Clean bedrooms and maintain organized drawers and closets
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen
- Dust and polish furniture and fittings
- Clean and polish metal fixtures and fittings
- Maintain stock of routine cleaning and household supplies
- Care for household pets and tend to house plants
· Assist with purchasing groceries and household supplies to maintain adequate levels and
maintain records of related expenditure
- Occasional assistance with light cooking and serving for special events
- Sort, wash, load and unload laundry
- Iron clothing, bed linens and table linens
- Sort and put away clean laundry and linens
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
- Monitor and report any necessary domestic repairs
- Run household related errands as requested
Skills and Experience
- Prior experience with laundry, ironing and general housekeeping
- Ability to multitask and exhibit flexibility
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a private home preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
