Position Summary
The Musculoskeletal Digital Innovation and Informatics Program (www.musculoskeletal.ai/) in the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School has an immediate opening for a motivated Healthcare Data Analyst I to work with a multidisciplinary team of biomedical engineers, orthopedic surgeons, and computer and data scientists to contribute to development of data pipelines to process electronic medical records to assist with clinical care, research and operation. This opportunity is primarily focused on applied and translational data analysis with immediate impact on clinical care of patients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions, through publication of novel findings and development of computational tools used by clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists in the research, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of data processing pipelines, and reporting and analytical tools. Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to ensure that reports are timely, accurate, meaningful, and interpretable. Works with other team members to ensure that analyses and reports provide detailed, specific data regarding performance of individuals, teams, programs, divisions, and the department. Generates reports from a variety of internal and external sources.
- Performs standardized data validation activities to ensure the highest quality information for decision-making.
- Assists in the creation of large new databases, or creates smaller databases as needed, and maintains a valid and accurate data repository to ensure availability of required information. Assists in the definition of specifications for key data elements, data collection procedures, and integrity of databases. Improves and maintains the production environment for tasks and applications.
- Works with team members to develop insightful display of data using visualization tools.
- Assists in the interpretation of data and provides team with data-driven recommendations.
- Produces and maintains documentation on processes, database models, and project workflows.
Education
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Experience:
- Expertise in Python programming.
- Expertise in SQL and database querying.
- Experience with healthcare datasets and electronic medical records, in particular Epic platform.
- Experience in the use of large language models and their applications.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
