Melmark Overview
Melmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.
BCBA homebased Overview
The BCBA Consultant is responsible for providing educational and behavioral consultation to families, Early Intervention providers, and other service agencies regarding the needs of children with autism spectrum disorders. Responsibilities will include assessing students, developing curriculum, developing behavior support plans, developing data collection systems, and training and supervising direct teaching staff (ABA Home-based EI Counselor).
Schedule and Salary Information
- per diem, flexibility between 8:30-6pm
- $55-65 per hour
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or Special Education (Doctoral degree preferred)
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required and must receive a MA state licence (LABA)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in providing services to young children with ASD.
- Expertise in child development and early intensive behavior intervention, with emphasis on the special needs and requirements of individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis required.
BCBA Consultant Responsibilities
- Adheres to all applicable ethical standards as outlined in the Behavior Analyst Certification Task List
- Provides consultation in response to student needs that falls within their particular area of expertise: Seeking support and guidance within the department on any area of concern outside of their skill area.
- Ensures confidentiality of all students, families, and staff.
- Utilizes assessment techniques and treatment strategies that reflect Melmark New England’s evidenced-based treatment policy.
- Develops data collection systems, behavior support plans for staff and parent trainings educational curricula, and treatment plans and IFSPs.
- Conducts staff and parent training.
