Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Desk Support professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing technical assistance and support to our users, ensuring the smooth operation of IT services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT support, with a focus on troubleshooting software and hardware issues while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software-related problems across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Assist with VPN connectivity issues, firewall configurations, and network administration tasks.
- Utilize tools such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira for ticket management and incident tracking.
- Conduct analysis of IT infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Support desktop environments by installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and software.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery processes and improve customer satisfaction.
- Provide guidance on mobile device management and support for various operating systems.
Skills
- Proficient in technical support and troubleshooting skills for desktop environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, LAN, and WAN.
- Experience with SCCM for software deployment and management.
- Understanding of Group Policy Objects (GPO) for user configuration management.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist users in resolving their issues.
- Ability to analyze problems critically and provide effective solutions promptly.
- Experience with network administration tools such as Meraki is a plus.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including firewalls and VPNs is beneficial.
