Position Overview
The Director, HR Business Partner will be an integral member of the Human Resources team, this role will be a hands-on strategic leadership role. In this role, you will provide management of the HRBP team as well as provide strategic and operational HR expertise and guidance in the areas of HR and business strategy, leadership coaching, talent assessment and engagement, culture change, and organization design. You are a strategic partner and consultant for our business leaders, managers and employees. You possess a positive, can-do attitude with high drive.
Primary Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this HRBP role include:
- Hands-on HRBP leadership: Providing HRBP support to leaders of the organization as well as serving as a manager, mentor and coach to HRBP’s.
- Strategic planning: You are helping our company become future-ready. As such, you focus on our existing workforce and prepare them for the future. This means that you:
- Select and develop key talent to ensure that there are people who are ready to fill critical roles when necessary.
- Identify training needs and assist L&D in aligning training programs with our business goals.
- Support leaders in organizational design, making sure that our workforce has positions with the right skills to best align to and support business goals.
- Coaching and consulting: You have a clear understanding of how current and future challenges can affect our people and our organization. As such, you are able to provide effective advice and coaching to key stakeholders. Typically, you:
- Conduct weekly or bi-monthly meetings with business leaders and provide HR advice where necessary.
- Build strong business relationships and partnerships across the organization.
- Serve as a consultant or trusted advisor to management on HR related matters.
- Are up to date on employment laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance on the creation and implementation of HR processes and policies.
- Building a competitive organization: You play an essential role in helping the company win and retain clients through finding and retaining the best talent. This includes activities such as:
- Conducting day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (mentoring, career planning, coaching, etc.).
- Helping managers deal with organizational, people, and change-related issues.
- Collaborating with our Talent Acquisition Team to implement innovative and inclusive recruitment strategies.
- Developing or assisting in creating a future-proof compensation and benefits strategy.
- Being a company culture and employee experience champion: HRBPs will help build and maintain our company culture and continuously improve the employee experience. This means that they:
- Provide advice and suggestions for culture-related initiatives.
- Implement initiatives on employee wellbeing, D&I, and talent management.
- Work with our management and employees to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role as well as 5+ years of management experience.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration or a related field. A deep knowledge of HR programs and practices. Demonstrated mastery in supporting a dynamic and global organization with solid experience in the areas of:
- Strategic advisor to leadership
- Employee Relations
- Conflict Management
- Performance Management
- Career Development
- Training & Development
- Experience working with and supporting a global employee base, including remote employees
- Proven ability to manage employee relations situations, a working knowledge of employment law and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrable experience in organizational development and change management.
- Must possess the stamina to go from zero to 60mph in three seconds flat and who can (and enjoy!) turning at a moment’s notice.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
- Commitment and demonstrated behaviors aligning to our core values (People, Customers, Attitude, Ownership).
- HR certification a plus.
