The Director of Enrichment provides leadership and strategic vision to Advent's enrichment department and its five robust programs:
- After-school classes for approximately 100 students in pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Classes range from robotics to sailing to private music lessons.
- “ADVENTures” days during school vacation week (February & April) and other select days
- Makerspace Saturdays offering hands-on learning experiences for families
- “Design at Advent” summer program providing six weeks of STEM-based learning in June and July
- Childcare during school events, as needed.
The Director of Enrichment is a member of the senior leadership team and reports directly to the Head of School. They hire, train, and support the enrichment administrative and teaching staff, and oversee the development of all enrichment programming.
The Director of Enrichment is a salaried position for the 2025-26 academic year that includes medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, professional development opportunities, and paid time off. The salary range is $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience. During the school year, the hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The hours for the summer program (mid-June through early August) are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additional weekends and nights may be required as directed by the Head of School.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Support, mentor, and collaborate with Associate Director of Enrichment and faculty to create mission-aligned programming for students, including development of program themes and classes.
- Oversee the running of all enrichment programs including, after-school, ADVENTures days, Makerspace Saturdays, and summer program. This includes:
- Mentoring and supporting faculty and staff
- Supporting students
- Partnering with families and the greater community
- Manage the ordering of supplies and maintenance of program materials, including storage
- Build and maintain community partnerships that enrich the programs offered to students
- Hire, supervise, and oversee the training of after-school teachers and other enrichment program staff
- Collaborate with the Division Heads and daytime faculty to support students' needs and social-emotional growth while in enrichment programming
- Work with the Director of Marketing & Communications on the design and publishing of program brochures and advertising to both the internal and external community
- Collaborate with the business office to review program finances and goals, and share annual reports with the Board of Trustees
- Participate as an active member of the senior leadership team, centering the school’s mission and providing strategic vision.
- Additional administrative duties as assigned.
